You are Not Broken, Just Becoming

Written by Ali Caudill

Hi, I’m Ali Caudill (she/her), the practitioner behind Everroot Integrative Care and founder of Alyn Wellness Studio.

I believe healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, with others, and with the deeper layers of our story.

I hold space for clients to reconnect with what’s true, what’s tender, and what’s possible. My work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that you are not broken—just becoming.

I specialize in supporting sensitive, thoughtful humans navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity shifts, and the impact of relational wounds.

Many of my clients describe feeling like they’re carrying a lot—responsibility, emotion, pressure—and are longing for more space to breathe, process, and come back to themselves.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and integrative. I draw from parts work, mindfulness-based CBT, and depth-oriented practices that honor the mind-body-soul connection. I’m especially interested in how early experiences shape present-day patterns, and how this work can support a shift from survival into fuller aliveness.

I first dreamed of doing this work during undergrad, but became a mom immediately after graduating. I started my photography business when my oldest, Zoe, was just six months old. After many years of capturing intimate stories and bearing witness to emotion through imagery, that work naturally deepened into a desire to support people in a more sustained way—particularly around healing, grief, and the nervous system.

When my youngest of three, Maddox, started kindergarten, I returned to school to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason. During that time, I began to imagine a mind-body space for healing—and that vision eventually became what Alyn Wellness Studio is today.

I’m now a Resident in Counseling, practicing under supervision at my private practice, Everroot Holistic Psychotherapy, which lives within Alyn. My work is trauma-informed and grounded in parts work, mindfulness-based CBT, and somatic awareness.

I primarily work with women navigating life transitions, relationships, and the ongoing journey of cultivating self-trust and self-compassion. What inspires me most is the quiet resilience people carry—even when they don’t realize it yet. I’m continually moved by the courage it takes to turn inward, tend to your inner world, and begin living a life that’s truly your own.

What do you struggle with on a day-to-day basis?

One of my ongoing challenges is balancing the many roles I hold—therapist, business owner, parent—and making sure that my own wellness and self-care remain a priority. It can be easy to get swept up in the pace of managing a practice and a space like Alyn, so I’m continually working to create time and energy for rest, reflection, and the slower rhythms that sustain me.

What strategies do you use to maintain mental wellness/self-care?

I return again and again to simple, consistent practices that help me feel anchored. Daily movement, meditation, and Breathwork are non-negotiable for me, and I make time to be in nature as often as possible. I also prioritize regular therapy and supervision to process what comes up in my work.

Just as important, I carve out space for joy—unwinding and laughing with people I love, going to see live music, and spending time with art and beauty. Finally, I’ve learned to build in spaciousness, giving myself permission to rest, to say no, and to honor the rhythms of my own nervous system. These practices allow me to show up with more presence and sustainability, both for my clients and for myself.
