NOW HIRING: P/T Administrative Assistant and Social Media Manager

Position: Administrative Assistant and Social Media Manager
Organization: Mental Health Association, serving Fauquier and Rappahannock counties

Type: Part-Time, 5-10 hours per week
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

About the Organization:
The Mental Health Association is a grassroots, nonprofit organization with a long history of advocating for high quality and accessible mental health services in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties. MHAFC’s core mission is to promote and facilitate mental health wellness in the communities we serve. We seek to be a catalyst for change by collaborating with many other local organizations and engaging the whole community to promote mental wellness for everyone.

About the Position:
In a phase of growth, MHAFC developed the Administrative Assistant and Social Media Manager position to expand its outreach and to support current staff with administrative tasks and social media outreach. Below is the summary of general duties but not an exhaustive list:

Office Support (50%):

  • Process physical mail and coordinate large mailings as needed
  • Schedule meetings and trainings
  • Maintain records for bills, receipts, and payments
  • Attend and take detailed notes at Board meetings, and other regular meetings the Association hosts (as needed)
  • Answer phone, check messages and route calls to the appropriate individual
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Assist Community Outreach Coordinator in overseeing the Mental Health First Aid program (duties include overseeing class enrollment, taking reservations, logging cancellations and scheduling classes)

Marketing/Outreach (50%):

  • Assist Community Outreach Coordinator in developing a comprehensive outreach strategy which includes traditional marketing channels, social media, and website
  • Maintain Association’s website and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with regular updates and establish new social media channels if needed
  • Assist in developing the Association’s quarterly e-newsletter
  • Update Resource Database and Donor Database as needed
  • Coordinate volunteers as needed
  • Catalog mentions of the Association on other’s social media and marketing platforms

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years’ previous experience in administrative work, social media, and/or marketing (experience in mental health or healthcare fields is a plus)
  • Strong skills in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Must possess strong computer skills. Experience with WordPress desired
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ideal candidate is detailed-oriented and possesses a positive attitude and willingness to learn
